Calling for... ...papers and articles (commentary and analysis) and audio and video submissions. Click on About/FAQ above for submission and content information and requirements. The plan is to launch our first full multi-media edition sometime around the first week of April 2007. Articles and observations will occasionaly appear here before then. 02-20-2007 -- SatRad: All day long, it was everywhere ... ... that would be, of course, the news of the proposed merger of the XM and Sirius SatRad companies, something I never thought would happen. I waited all day for all the reports on this to clear my online resources before commenting... Read and then comment here. 02-19-2007 -- FNC: Last night's debut of the "Half Hour News Hour" ... was pretty much crap. We giggled occasionally, never belly laughed, and for the most part felt embarassed for the producers and the (2) writers. I think the word that best and most kindly defines what's needed is "retooling". That should include pumping life into the anchors and adding a dozen or so more writers who actually have done this kind of thing before. UPDATE: word on the street is that the show has been cancelled. Comment here. 02-19-2007 -- STLToday: The Post-Dispatch can't deal with the net, yet ... They just don't share very well. Mad props to the P-D's Dan Caesar for his nearly-on-time article in the P-D on KTRS, KMOX and the Fall ratings book. STLMedia has a licensing arrangement with Arbitron and published those numbers and commentary on January 16th, the day they were released and a full month before Caesar posted his article on the same subject. Mr. Caesar is welcome to use our license to examine radio rating numbers, assuming he'll credit STLMedia.net or STLMediaReview.com. But I've already been told by a reporter there that they "don't credit websites". Thanks to Kyle Muldrow, Associate Professor CIS, DeVry U., Long Beach/CA for the tip. Comment here. 02-18-2007 -- STLRadio.com: A bunch of new stuff went up over the weekend... at Frank Absher's diligently researched STLRadio.com website. Go there and click on Articles to read the latest entries. 02-17-2007 -- KTVI: Okay, the cow's dead. Now what? Late last week our partner website, STLMedia, received an anonymous bit of email viewer unhappiness and I just had to respond. Read 02-17-2007 -- FNC: New fox at Fox - see my thumb? She's really dumb! ...Courtney Friel began her FNC tenure with Saturday mornings's Fox & Friends. And as much as I enjoy a pretty face on the tube, I'm afraid that young Courtney would lose a game of cribbage to a cabbage. Janice Dean described her as a "Courtney sandwich" as she sat inbeteen FNC regs Greg Kelly and Kelly Wright, later telling the two "You guys have to wipe the drool off your mouths." Enjoy Courtney's "host" audition reel and then comment here 02-16-2007 -- MSNBC: MSNBC's Keith Olbermann re-signs for millions... ...MSNBC's Keith Olbermann has re-signed for millions of dollars, but not viewers. But he does have a few hundred thousand of them, and that number has been growing steadily, spreading much joy at NBC. Read 02-16-2007 -- KRSH-FM: Ritenour HS' radio station license... ...for KRSH-FM/Overland is probably forfeit and lost to the school forever because of the Ritenour Consolidated School District's failure to "timely file a license renewal application"...
